Licensed properties in RPG products

Across a Table Madly, Episode 9: Licensed properties in RPG products

In this episode we talk about licensed universes and IP in RPG games. What are licensed products? Those are RPG products that are based on existing materials, such as popular television shows, movies, books, and comics. We briefly talk about how these types of products are sometimes good for introducing non-RPG-playing friends to table-top RPG playing. We quickly move on to discussing some of the problems in creating a good RPG system based on a license, as well as mentioning some of the games that do it right.

How to be a Better Player

What does it mean to be a good player at the RPG table? In this episode Aaron, Sam, and Kato discuss what it means to be a good player at the table and then we talk about ways to be an even better player. This discussion is system neutral and the advice is broadly applicable to any game or group. It runs long, and we apologize for that. We had fun discussing the topic, we feel it is one of our best shows yet, and we hope you enjoy listening.
